State Representative Roemer Testifies at Public Hearing Regarding the Elimination of E-Check in Northeast Ohio

State Representative Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) on Thursday provided testimony at the public hearing in Mayfield, Ohio, regarding the elimination of E-Check in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, and Summit Counties.

In his remarks, Roemer emphasized that the long-term minuscule benefits are outweighed by the significant negative impacts across Northeast Ohio.

“After eight years of working towards this goal, I am pleased that Northeast Ohio is now in attainment for air quality,” said Roemer. “I am hopeful the U.S. EPA will approve Ohio’s request to eliminate E-Check, ending an unnecessary and unfair burden on families across the seven counties while saving the state more than $12 million annually.”
